The Ministry for Primary Industries of New Zealand notified the World Trade Organization of the Proposals to Amend the Maximum Residue Levels for Agricultural Compounds Food Notice 2016.The document establishes technical details on proposals to amend the 2016 Notice under the Food Act 2014 that lists the maximum residue levels (MRLs) for agricultural compounds in New Zealand. Among others, the following new MRLs are added or amended:

  • Diazinon: 0.01(*) mg/kg in nuts.
  • Dichlorvos: 0.01(*) mg/kg in nuts.
  • Fenpyrazamine: 3 mg/kg in grapes.
  • Malathion: 5 mg/kg in grapes and stonefruit.
  • Metrafenone: 0.01(*) mg/kg in grapes.

(*) indicates that the maximum residue level has been set at or about the limit of analytical quantification.The deadline for comments is June 3, 2017.For further information, please contact us at inc@nutfruit.org.
