EU: Importing Organic Produce
On December 23, 2020, the European Commission published the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/2196 of 17 December 2020 amending Regulation (EC) No 1235/2008 laying down detailed rules for implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 as regards the arrangements for imports of organic products from third countries.
This Regulation amends Annex III and IV of the Regulation 1235/2008. In the Annex III, the list of recognized countries is updated for some countries (Australia, Canada, Chile, India, Japan, Republic of Korea, and United States). Annex IV, which compiles the list of recognized control bodies and control authorities for the purpose of equivalence, has been also updated. In addition, several control bodies have been recognized to carry out controls and issues certificates in the UK as a third country.

This regulation entered into force on December 30, 2020.
