The event aimed to promote the harmonized application of marketing standards and inspection methods
The INC participated in the 35th International Meeting on Quality Control of Fruit and Vegetables, held in Bonn, Germany, from March 25-27, 2025. Organized every two years by Germany’s Federal Office for Agriculture and Food, this meeting brings together inspectors from governmental services in Germany, EU member states, and exporting third countries, as well as representatives of the fruit and vegetable industry. The aim is to promote the harmonized application of marketing standards and inspection methods, while also providing information on products and quality production.
The INC was represented by Dr. Julia Cartelle, Senior Analyst, Industry Statistics, who delivered a talk entitled “From Almond to Walnuts, Exploring Different Nuts and Their Importance.” In her presentation, Dr. Cartelle gave an overview of global production, trade and consumption of tree nuts and peanuts. She highlighted the significant growth of these markets over the past decade and underscored INC’s crucial role in supporting the industry by providing valuable statistical insights and data.
Other presentations covered topics such as EU regulations, marketing standards, UNECE quality standards, quality control, and the use of e-learning tools in conformity checks.
