The meeting was attended by representatives of different organizations and companies in the nut and dried fruit sector from several countries, namely Belgium, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, UK and USA.
 
Representatives of the European Commission DG SANTE gave an update on various contaminants (Ochratoxin A, mineral oils, perchlorate, furan and alternaria toxins) and informed about the latest changes to the control frequency at EU borders, as well as the re-evaluation of the safety of permitted food additives which includes sorbates and sulphites. A representative of the European Commission DG AGRI explained the present status of the negotiations on the Brexit and the future steps. In addition, FRUCOM presented the latest updates and work on pesticides and trade and customs matters.
