Spain: Almond Producers Reach Agreement with Nougat Regulatory Council
The Spanish Association of Organic and Conventional Almond Producers (AEPAEC) has signed a collaboration agreement with the body overseeing two geographical indications for nougat, according to Agroinformación. The agreement with the Regulatory Council of the Protected Geographical Indications Jijona and Turrón de Alicante envisages the preferential use of Spanish almonds in nougat, clearer labeling regarding the origin of the almonds used, and support for the creation of a protected geographical indication for Spanish almond.
