The Ministry of Health of Peru has notified the World Trade Organization of the Draft Regulations implementing Legislative Decree No. 1222 on the optimization of administrative procedures and strengthening of sanitary control over processed foods and fishery and aquaculture products.The Decree covers foods subject to heat treatment, smoking, industrial drying, roasting or dehydrating, dry mixtures for infusions and condiments, as well as foods that are blanched, pickled or in brine, inter alia.The text establishes administrative procedures and requirements for sanitary certification, administrative procedures for penalties, and additional measures and rules governing the labeling of processed foods.Legislative Decree No. 1222 (in Spanish)
