Nut Consumption Has Been Associated with a Lower Risk of Colorectal Cancer
This study investigated the relationship between nut consumption and colorectal cancer risk. In total, 923 colorectal cancer patients and 1,846 controls were recruited from the National Cancer Center in Korea.
Participants dietary intake was collected using food frequency questionnaires with 106 items (peanuts, pine nuts and almonds were included as 1 item) during the course of one year.
Results observed that high nut consumption was strongly associated with reduced risk of colorectal cancer among women.
