Open Call for Health Research Projects

The INC has launched the 9th edition of the Annual Call for Research Projects (up to €300,000). The objective of this grant is to fund clinical, epidemiological, basic and/or strategic research that may contribute to enhance the understanding of the health effects of nuts and dried fruits.

The Asian Congress of Nutrition is held every four years to promote nutrition and food innovation, and to encourage scientific interchange among food, nutrition and health researchers and professionals in Asia and worldwide. The 13th edition was recently held in Bali, Indonesia, on August 4-7.

In April 2019, the United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Bahrain, State of Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Yemen notified the Word Trade Organization of the amendments on the Gulf Draft Technical Regulation for "Contaminants and toxins in food and feed".
EU: Pesticide Residues in Food Report

On June 26, 2019, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published the 2017 European Union Report on Pesticide Residues in Food, finding that 95.9% of the samples analyzed (88,247 samples) fell within legal limits; around 54.1% were free of any quantifiable residues.
