The Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency has notified the World Trade Organization of some draft resolutions regarding the active ingredients P54 – Proexadiona Calcica, I10 – Imazetapir, and F46 – Flumioxazina of the Monograph List of Active Ingredients for Pesticides, Household Cleaning Products and Wood Preservers, published by Resolution – RE n° 165 of 29 August 2003, on the Brazilian Official Gazette (DOU – Diário Oficial da União) of 2 September 2003.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) issued the Variations to Schedule 20 of the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code (August 13, 2019).

On August 25, 2019, the US and Japan announced that both countries reached an agreement in principle.
EU: Protective Measures against Pests

The European Commission notified the World Trade Organization of the Draft Commission Implementing Regulation establishing uniform conditions for the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2016/2031 of the European Parliament and the Council, as regards protective measures against pests of plants, and repealing Commission Regulation (EC) No 690/2008 and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/2019.
EU: Thiacloprid Withdrawal

The European Commission notified the World Trade Organization of the Draft Commission Implementing Regulation concerning the non-renewal of the approval of the active substance thiacloprid, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market, and amending the Annex to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 540/2011.
China: Additional Tariffs

On August 23, 2019, China announced the imposition of additional tariffs on certain US origin products.
USA: MRLs Update

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has established tolerances for residues of sulfoxaflor in or on multiple commodities.
Spain: Spanish Almonds Certified with Environmental Product Declaration

AENOR, the Spanish standardization body responsible for the publication of the National Standards UNE, has certified an environmental product declaration on Spanish almond kernels, according to the Standard UNE-EN-ISO 14025.
Saudi Arabia: Contaminants and Toxins

In April 2019, the United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Bahrain, State of Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Yemen notified the Word Trade Organization of the amendments on the Gulf Draft Technical Regulation for "Contaminants and toxins in food and feed".
EU: Pesticide Residues in Food Report

On June 26, 2019, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published the 2017 European Union Report on Pesticide Residues in Food, finding that 95.9% of the samples analyzed (88,247 samples) fell within legal limits; around 54.1% were free of any quantifiable residues.
