China: MRLs Update

In the Newsletter No. 209, INC announced that China notified of the National Food Safety Standard that establishes maximum residue limits for the residues of 122 pesticides.

South Korea: Standards and Specifications for Foods

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of the Republic of Korea notified the World Trade Organization of the Proposed Amendments to the Standards and Specifications for Foods. Among others, the amendment establishes and revises the maximum residue levels for 48 pesticides, including Diquat, and establishes test methods for two pesticides (Fluxametamide and Tiafenacil).

China: Annual Tariff Reductions

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service has issued a GAIN Report containing an unofficial translation of the tariff reductions on select commodities announced by China.

New Zealand: MRLs Update

The Ministry for Primary Industries of New Zealand notified the World Trade Organization of the Proposals to Amend the Maximum Residue Levels for Agricultural Compounds Food Notice 2017.

Chile: Peanut Importation

The Agriculture and Livestock Service of Chile (SAG) notified the World Trade Organization of the phytosanitary requirements for the importation of inshell peanuts (Arachis hypogea).

Mexico: In-shell Macadamias from Guatemala

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development, Fisheries and Food of Mexico has notified the World Trade Organization of the Phytosanitary requirements for the importation of in-shell macadamia (Macadamia integrifolia) nuts originating in and coming from Guatemala.

Japan: MRLs Update

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan notified the World Trade Organization of the Revision of the Standards and Specifications for Foods and Food Additives under the Food Sanitation Act (Revision of agricultural chemical residue standards).

India: Advertisements and Claims

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) notified the Word Trade Organization of the Draft Food Safety and Standards (Advertisements and Claims) Regulations, 2017.
