According to the European Federation of the Trade in Dried Fruit & Edible Nuts, Processed Fruit & Vegetables, Processed Fishery products, Spices, Honey (FRUCOM), the European Union, Kenya and Rwanda have signed the EU-East African Community (EAC) Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).The EU-EAC EPA is pending the other EAC Member States’ signatures and ratification before it goes into force. In a meeting held on 8 September 2016, the EAC Heads of State agreed to allow more time to examine the impact of the EPA on their respective economic policies.
