On 2 December 2016, the European Commission issued the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/2107 of 1 December 2016 amending Annex I to Regulation (EC) No 669/2009 as regards the list of feed and food of non-animal origin subject to an increased level of official controls on imports.As previously announced in Newsletter No. 189, peanuts from Bolivia (50% of control frequency for aflatoxins) have been added to the list and the control frequency in pistachios from USA has been reduced (from 20% to 10% for aflatoxins).In addition, EU importers of newly added products such as Bolivian peanuts will have to prior notify the estimated date and time of physical arrival of the consignment at the designated point of entry, and the nature of the consignment. To that end, Part I of the Common Entry Document (Regulation 669/2009) will need to be completed and sent at least one working day prior to the physical arrival of the consignment.The Regulation shall enter into force on 1 January 2017.Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/2107 of 1 December 2016
