Focused on the Farm to Fork Strategy adopted in May 2020, this virtual conference gathered stakeholders across the food value chain, public authorities, international and civil society organizations, as well as citizens and interested public, with the aim of discussing on the challenges and opportunities linked to the transition to sustainable food systems, as well as on possible further areas of intervention.
 
The conference had high-level speakers, including Mr. Frans Timmermans, European Commission's Executive Vice President, Ms. Stella Kyriakides, European Commissioner responsible for Health and Food Safety, and Mr. Janusz Wojchiecowski, European Commissioner responsible for Agriculture. In addition, actors from the public and private sector shared and discussed different perspectives, challenges and opportunities of the transition to sustainable food systems.
 
The event was the first opportunity to gather all key players including public authorities, academia and actors in the food value chain –from farmers, food manufacturers, retailers, hospitality and food services to consumers– to discuss the move towards sustainable food systems.
