Results from a recent INC-funded intervention study were published in the prestigious American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, one of the highest-rated journals in the field of nutrition and dietetics. The study showed that, for older adults with overweight or obesity, longer-term consumption of mixed nuts significantly improved brain insulin sensitivity. Replacing Processed Meat with Nuts May Reduce Cardiovascular Disease Risk by 27%

Switching to nuts is also associated with lower risk of type 2 diabetes and all-cause mortality

In a recent systematic review and meta-analysis published in BMC Medicine, researchers summarized and evaluated the evidence for associations between replacing animal-based foods with plant-based foods and cardiometabolic health and all-cause mortality.
