The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has received several initial filings of pesticide petitions requesting the establishment or modification of regulations for residues of pesticide chemicals in or on various commodities.As regards nuts and dried fruits, the agency received the following petitions:

  • New tolerances: the fungicide sedaxane in peanut at 0.01 ppm and the fungicide ziram in filbert (hazelnut) at 0.1 ppm.
  • Amended tolerances exemptions: the fungicide Aspergillus flavus AF36 by adding in or on almond and fig.
