Canada: MRLs Update

Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency has announced the adoption of the MRL for tetrachlorvinphos and the revocation of diazinon, dicofol, dinocap, nicotine, phosalone and vinclozolin on corresponding commodities identified. In addition, the MRL for amisulbrom has been also adopted (see previous post).

Australia-Indonesia: Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement

On March 4, 2019, Australia and Indonesia signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement that eliminates bilateral tariffs on tree nuts (Brazil nuts, cashews, almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, pistachios, macadamias), dates, apricots, figs, peanuts and peanut butter, among many other products.

INC Executive Committee Meeting

The INC Executive Committee met in Dubai, UAE, on February 21, 2019, to review the Foundation’s financial status at the end of 2018 and the 2019’s Budget. The Committee discussed ongoing projects, such as the Megatrends Project and the INC Contract for the sale and purchase of nuts and dried fruits, and reviewed the grant requests for the Open-Access publication of scientific studies.
