EU: Plant Protection Products Update
The European Union has notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of proposed draft MRLs for benfluralin and benthiavalicarb that would lower the limit to 0.01 mg/kg for tree nuts, peanuts, stone fruits, and grapes. The draft regulation envisages a six-month transition period from the date on which the regulation enters into force.
The EU has also extended the approval of the following substances: 1,4-dimethylnaphthalene, amidosulfuron, bentazone, bixafen, clomazone, fenoxaprop-P, fludioxonil, fluoxastrobin, flutolanil, fluxapyroxad, gibberellic acid, gibberellins, halauxifen-methyl, mecoprop-P, paraffin oil, penthiopyrad, pirimiphos-methyl, propamocarb, propyzamide, prothioconazole, rimsulfuron, sedaxane and sulfoxaflor. Japan: Draft MRL for Dimpropyridaz in Grapes
Japan has notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of a draft revision of its Specifications and Standards for Foods, Food Additives, Etc., in which a maximum residue level of 2 ppm is proposed for dimpropyridaz in grapes.
