The main objective of this regulation is to improve the visibility and readability of nutritional information and the accuracy of the declared nutritional values; to reduce situations that can mislead consumers; to facilitate nutritional comparison; and to broaden the scope of nutritional information.
The main changes proposed are: modifications related with the nutrition facts table; the adoption of a front-of-pack nutrition labeling model; and the adjustment of the criteria for declaring nutrition claims.
