Colorful Chennai Delights More than 900 Participants at the 36th INC Congress

The International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC) celebrated the XXXVI World Nut and Dried Fruit Congress in Chennai (India). From May 19-21, more than 900 delegates participated in the only and largest international event dedicated to the nut and dried fruit industry, that this year was hosted in India for the first time.

The final design of the INC Pavilion for the next edition of Anuga 2017 (Cologne, October 7-11) has already been completed. It will be the sixth edition of the facility, that this time affords space to host 19 booths and 2 internal meeting rooms throughout 320 sqm. Space availability is sold out. A comprehensive review was conducted to summarize the potential mechanisms and effects of dried plums on bone health. The review was published on April in the journal Nutrients.

Daily Walnut Consumption May Improve Metabolic Syndrome Status

89 participants (44 men and 45 women) were included in this study, the main objective of which was to assess the gender differences on the lipid profiles and body composition among subjects with metabolic syndrome after a daily walnut intake of 45g during 16 weeks.

3rd Meeting of the Spanish Almond Industry

INC attended the Third Meeting of the Spanish Almond Industry, held in Gergal, Almería, Spain, on April 20, 2017. Around 60 participants from the Spanish almond industry (growers, traders, processors, manufacturers, organizations, and machinery companies) attended the meeting.
