Both countries agreed to promote bilateral economic and trade relations, and China agreed to make substantial purchases of US agricultural products among other US origin goods. This agreement temporary stopped the bilateral imposition of additional tariffs which were expected to enter into force on December 15, 2019 (see previous post).

Before the signature of the agreement, both countries have to complete internal procedures including its legal review and translation.
