The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Colombia has notified the World Trade Organization of the Draft Decree Establishing sanitary procedures for the import and export of food and food raw materials intended for human consumption, and for the authorization and certification of food factories located abroad.The draft covers the obligations at entry and exit points for importers of raw materials and food intended for human consumption; procedure for the issue of health inspection certificates; products subject to laboratory analysis; health inspection certification for exportation; requirements and procedure for the authorization and certification of good manufacturing practices of factories abroad that produce foods of animal origin posing a high risk to public health, and denial of authorization and prohibition of marketing, among others.The deadline for comments is March 6, 2017.For further information, please contact us at inc@nutfruit.org.
