EU: MRLs Update

The European Commission published the Regulation 2017/624 of 30 March 2017, the Regulation 2017/626 of 31 March 2017, the Regulation 2017/627 of 3 April 2017 and the Regulation 2017/693 of 7 April 2017 as regards maximum residue levels for certain pesticides.As for nuts and dried fruits, the Regulation 2017/624 sets the following MRLs:

• Bifenazate: 0.02 ppm in dates and figs and 0.05 ppm in peanuts.
• Daminozide: 0.06 ppm in apricots, plums, grapes, cranberries, dates and figs.
• Tolylfluanid: 0.02 ppm in tree nuts, apricots, plums, grapes, cranberries, dates, figs and peanuts.

The regulation entered into force on April 26, 2017.Commission Regulation 2017/624 of 30 March 2017 As for nuts and dried fruits, the Regulation 2017/626 sets the following MRLs:

• Cyantraniliprole: 0.04 ppm in tree nuts.
• Ethephon: 3 ppm in figs.
• Fluxapyroxad: 0.04 ppm in tree nuts and 3 ppm in grapes.

The regulation entered into force on April 27, 2017.Commission Regulation 2017/626 of 31 March 2017 As previously announced, the Regulation 2017/627 modified the following MRLs for fenpyroximate, triadimenol and triadimefon in nuts and dried fruits:

• Fenpyroximate: 0.01* ppm in tree nuts (except almonds at 0.05*); 0.1 ppm in plums; 0.5 ppm in cranberries; and 0.01* ppm in peanuts.
• Triadimenol: 0.01* ppm in tree nuts; 0.03 ppm in grapes; and 0.01* ppm in cranberries.
• Triadimefon: 0.01* ppm in tree nuts, apricots, plums, grapes, cranberries, dates, figs and peanuts.

The regulation will enter into force on October 27, 2017.Commission Regulation 2017/627 of 3 April 2017 As for nuts and dried fruits, the Regulation 2017/693 sets the following MRLs:

• Chlormequat: 0.01* ppm in tree nuts, apricots, plums, cranberries, dates, figs and peanuts; and 0.05 ppm in grapes.
• Tebufenpyrad: 0.01* ppm in tree nuts, dates, figs and peanuts; 0.4 ppm in apricots; 0.2 ppm in plums; 0.6 ppm in grapes; and 1.5 ppm in cranberries.
