The European Commission published the Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/1785 of 7 October 2016, the Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/1822 of 13 October 2016 and the Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/1866 of 17 October 2016.Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/1785 of 7 October 2016 amending Annexes II and III to Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council sets maximum residue levels for cymoxanil, phosphane and phosphide salts and sodium 5-nitroguaiacolate, sodium o-nitrophenolate and sodium p-nitrophenolate in or on certain products.As for nuts and dried fruits, the Regulation sets the following MRLs:

  • Cymoxanil: tree nuts, apricots, plums, dates, figs and peanuts at 0.01(*) ppm and grapes at 0.3 ppm.
  • Phosphane and phosphide salts: tree nuts at 0.09 ppm except pistachios at 0.1 ppm; apricots, plums, grapes, dates and figs at 0.01(*) ppm; and peanuts at 0.05 ppm.
  • Sodium 5-nitroguaiacolate, sodium o-nitrophenolate and sodium p-nitrophenolate: tree nuts, apricots, plums, grapes, dates, figs and peanuts at 0.03(*) ppm.

(*) Indicates lower limit of determination.This regulation shall apply from 28 April 2017.Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/1785 of 7 October 2016.Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/1822 of 13 October 2016 amends the maximum residue levels for aclonifen, deltamethrin, fluazinam, methomyl, sulcotrione and thiodicarb in or on certain products.As for nuts and fruits, the regulation sets the following MRLs:

  • Aclonifen: tree nuts, apricots, plums, grapes, cranberries, dates, figs and peanuts at 0.01 (*) ppm.
  • Fluazinam: tree nuts, apricots, plums, grapes, cranberries, dates, figs and peanuts at 0.01 (*) ppm.
  • Sulcotrione: apricots, plums, grapes, cranberries, dates and figs at 0.01 (*) ppm.
  • Deltamethrin: tree nuts and peanuts at 0.02 (*) ppm, apricots at 0.15 ppm, plums at 0.07 ppm, cranberries at 0.6 ppm, and dates and figs at 0.01 (*) ppm.
  • Methomyl: tree nuts, apricots, plums, grapes, cranberries, dates, figs and peanuts at 0.01 (*) ppm.
  • Thiodicarb: tree nuts, apricots, plums, grapes, cranberries, dates, figs and peanuts at 0.01 (*) ppm.

(*) Indicates lower limit of determination.This regulation shall apply from 7 May 2017.Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/1822 of 13 October 2016Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/1866 of 17 October 2016 amending Annexes II, III and V to Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council sets maximum residue levels for 3-decen-2-one, acibenzolar-S-methyl and hexachlorobenzene in or on certain products.As for nuts and fruits, the regulation sets the following MRLs:

  • Hexachlorobenzene: peanuts at 0.02 (*) ppm.
  • 3-decen-2-one: tree nuts, apricots, plums, grapes, cranberries, dates, figs and peanuts at 0.1 (*) ppm.
