The existing quantities of the EU’s WTO bound Tariff Rate Quotas (TRQs) for agricultural, fish and industrial goods were established on the basis of the UK being an EU member state. The EU’s WTO schedule will no longer apply to the UK after its withdrawal.
The current quota of 90,000 Tons of almonds would be apportioned as follows: 95.5% to the EU and 4.5% to the UK. The EU approved the TRQs applicable after Brexit on December 7, 2018, and published the corresponding Regulation on February 8, 2019.
