WTO has authorized the United States to impose additional duties against EU products at a level of $7.5 billion annually. The tariffs will be applied to a range of imports from EU Member States, with the bulk of the tariffs being applied to imports from France, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
The US has published the list of products that will be subject to the additional tariffs (here). The tariff increases will be limited 25% on agricultural and other products. However, the US has the authority to increase the tariffs at any time, or change the products affected.
Nuts and dried fruits are not included on the final list of products.
The effective date of the additional duties is October 18, 2019.
