The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India notified the World Trade Organization of the Draft Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Amendment Regulations, 2017.The Draft relates to date paste, fermented soybean paste, cocoa mass or cocoa/chocolate liquor and cocoa cake, vegetable protein products, thermally processed fruit salad/cocktail/mix, harrisa (red hot pepper paste) and cocoa powder.The date paste Standard includes description of date paste; characteristics of moisture (not more than 20%), ash (not more than 1.2%) and acid insoluble ash (not more than 0.1%); additives (not allowed); contaminants, toxins and residues; hygiene; labeling, and method of analysis.The deadline for comments is April 11, 2017.More information
