On May 15, 2019, UK and Colombia, Ecuador and Peru signed a Trade Continuity Agreement aimed at safeguarding exporters from the impact of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU.
The agreement will help to protect the trade flow between the UK and the three Andean countries. This trade continuity agreement has been agreed in preparation for the UK’s departure from the EU. The agreement will allow businesses to trade without any additional barriers or tariffs, ensure certainty for businesses, consumers and investors when the UK ceases to be bound by EU deals.
