USA: California Prunes, Increased Assessment Rate

On August 12, the Agricultural Marketing Service published in the Federal Register the final rule that increases the assessment rate from $0.25 to $0.28 per ton of salable dried prunes.

This rule implements a recommendation from the Prune Marketing Committee to increase the assessment rate established for the 2020-21 and subsequent crop years. The assessment rate will remain in effect indefinitely unless modified, suspended, or terminated.

The rule is effective as of September 13, 2021.
