EFSA has concluded that the proposed use of potassium phosphonates on the crops under evaluation will not result in a consumer exposure exceeding the toxicological reference values and, therefore, is unlikely to pose a risk to consumers’ health.

EFSA has proposed to amend the MRLs as follows:
  • To increase the MRLs for almonds, hazelnuts pistachios and walnuts from 500 ppm to 1,500 ppm (sum of fosetyl, phosphonic acid and their salts, expressed as fosetyl) or to 1,000 ppm (phosphonic acid and their salts expressed as phosphonic acid).
