The latest discussion at the Working Group meeting on Environmental and Industrial Contaminants took place on September 12, 2019. The proposed maximum limit (ML) for cadmium in tree nuts and peanuts is 0.20 mg/kg. Currently, peanuts and tree nuts are exempted from cadmium ML (Commission Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006).
