Results observed that higher nut consumption was associated with lower body weight, body mass index (BMI) and also waist circumference. Higher nut consumption was also associated with a lower prevalence of high cholesterol and high blood pressure. The study concluded that the beneficial effects of nut consumption may be larger amongst omnivores compared to vegetarians and vegans.
