Japan: MRLs Update

According to a USDA GAIN Report, on September 13, 2018, Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare announced revisions to the Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) for some agricultural chemicals.

The European Commission notified the World Trade Organization of the draft Commission Regulation amending Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.

EFSA: Fenbuconazole, MRLs Review

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published the Reasoned Opinion on “Review of the existing maximum residue levels for fenbuconazole according to Article 12 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005”.

USA: Pesticide Petitions

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has received several initial filings of pesticide petitions requesting the establishment or modification of regulations for residues of pesticide chemicals in or on various commodities.

China International Tree Nuts Conference

INC participated at the 2018 China International Tree Nuts Conference, on August 1 – 3, in Zhuhai, Guangdong. Under the auspices of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal by-Products, the International Convention and Exhibition Center of Zhuhai hosted seminars on the global tree nut market, and more specifically on production and consumption of almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamias, pecans, pistachios and walnuts. The event was attended by 400 participants and 70 exhibitors from 24 countries and regions
