The aim of this Agreement is the promotion of trade between the EU and 16 West African states, to contribute to sustainable development and poverty reduction. Once signed by all parties, the Agreement will be submitted for ratification. The long-term perspective is to create a comprehensive continent-to-continent free trade agreement between the EU and Africa.
