The meeting explored the future of import trade, from AI to procurement management
On November 15, 2024, the INC took part in the 37th European Trade Meeting, hosted by the Waren-Verein der Hamburger Börse e.V. in Hamburg, Germany. The INC’s participation underscores its commitment to staying at the forefront of industry trends and critical issues shaping the nut and dried fruit trade.
Under the theme “The Future of Import Trade: From AI to Procurement Management,” the meeting convened over 100 participants from eleven countries, including key industry stakeholders from Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Serbia, Spain, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The event featured insightful presentations and discussions on digitalization, sustainability, strategic procurement, and the importance of partnerships to navigate the challenges and opportunities in the post-election era.
A panel discussion entitled “Survival of the Fittest: How to Manage Future Challenges in Global Trade” highlighted the importance of leadership and innovation in navigating global trade complexities. It focused on the relationship between digitalization and sustainability, urging CEOs to adopt a long-term view and embrace transitional technologies as steps toward more sustainable solutions.
The next European Trade Meeting is scheduled for November 21, 2025, in the Hotel Grand Elysée, in Hamburg, Germany.
