Waren-Verein der Hamburger Börse e.V. Celebrates 125 Years with Global Stakeholders and Key Industry Players

On June 19, 2025, Hamburg, Germany, marked a significant milestone as the Waren-Verein der Hamburger Börse e.V. celebrated its 125th anniversary. The event brought together global stakeholders and key players from the wholesale and foreign trade sectors, underscoring the Waren-Verein’s enduring influence and pivotal role in the importation of dried fruit, nuts, oilseeds, canned and frozen fruit, vegetables, fish products, and organic goods.

Founded in 1900, the Waren-Verein serves as the German federal association representing importers’ interests in these vital markets. The anniversary celebration highlighted the association’s rich history and its ongoing commitment to shaping the future of international trade.

The festivities commenced with a ceremony held in the Great Ballroom of Hamburg City Hall, featuring a welcome address by Hamburg Senator for Justice and Consumer Protection Anna Gallina. Frank-Christoph Rump, Chairman of the Waren-Verein Board, recounted key historical milestones, while Managing Director Jeanette Gonnermann outlined the association’s strategic vision for the years ahead.

Among the global stakeholders and key industry players from the nut and dried fruit sector, the INC was represented by Executive Director Goretti Guasch, who traveled to Hamburg to participate in the commemorations.

Following the formal ceremony, guests gathered for a dinner on the outdoor terrace of Hamburg’s Hanse Lounge, providing an opportunity for networking and celebration among the international trade community.
