The Ministry of Agricultural Development of Nepal notified the World Trade Organization of the proposed maximum limits (MLs) of mycotoxin in food products.The proposed maximum limits serve as a compulsory provision under food law and regulation and seek to monitor exports and imports of these food products, as well as to maintain safe and quality food products to the consumer.As for nuts and dried fruits, the following MLs for total aflatoxins (B1+B2+G1+G2) are proposed:

  • Nuts for further processing: 15 ppb.
  • Ready to eat nuts and their products: 10 ppb.
  • Dried figs: 10 ppb.
