INC actively participated strengthening industry ties in China
The nut industry gathered once again in China for the 18th China International Tree Nuts Conference, a key event in the international nut and dried fruit calendar. Organized by the China Chamber of Commerce of Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-Products (CFNA), the conference continues to serve as a key platform for trade, collaboration, and knowledge exchange across the sector.
This year’s conference, held in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, welcomed more than 1000 participants and more than 100 exhibitors from 19 countries, representing the full spectrum of the supply chain. The program offered a dynamic mix of presentations and roundtable discussions, bringing together leading Chinese and international experts. Sessions focused on individual products —such as almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamias, pecans, pistachios, walnuts, and peanuts— as well as featured discussions on roasted nuts, dried fruits, nutrition and health research, and evolving consumer preferences. Together, these sessions delivered in-depth analysis of market trends with a focus on China.
The INC was represented by INC leadership, Ashok Krishen, Pino Calcagni, Michael Waring, and Goretti Guasch. During the opening ceremony, Mr. Krishen delivered remarks outlining the INC’s priorities and vision for the future. Mrs. Guasch followed with a presentation on the INC’s strategic initiatives, including sustainability, health advocacy, and global outreach. Mr. Calcagni also took the stage to present “Global Tree Nuts Trade,” offering valuable insights into key trends in worldwide production and trade.
During the opening ceremony, a special moment was dedicated to unveiling the 2026 INC Congress, which will be held in Macao. Presented in partnership with CFNA, the announcement underscored the relationship between the INC and the CFNA and their shared commitment to advancing the industry. The INC expressed its appreciation to Mr. Cao Derong, President of CFNA, INC Board of Trustees member, and Chair of the upcoming INC Congress for inviting the INC to participate in the event and for his support in promoting the continued collaboration.
The INC also honored the city of Meihekou with a special award recognizing it as the Capital of the Global Pine Nut Industry, celebrating its leadership and contribution to this key product category.
Additionally, the INC held a strategic meeting with key industry players across China, including leading importers, exporters, and suppliers, to build and strengthen the INC’s presence in the Chinese market.
At the event the exhibition hall remained a lively center for networking and business development throughout the event. The INC’s booth attracted strong interest from attendees looking to learn more about the INC’s initiatives, membership opportunities, and the upcoming Congress in Macao.
As it continues to evolve, the China International Tree Nuts Conference remains a cornerstone event for strengthening partnerships, sharing knowledge, and supporting the long-term development of China’s nut industry.
