On January 19, 2017 the US Agricultural Marketing Service adopted the final rule relaxing the quality control requirements prescribed under the California almond marketing order. The inedible kernel tolerance is increased from 0.50% to 2% allowing handlers more flexibility in their operations while continuing to maintain quality control and ensuring compliance with the order’s requirements.This rule is effective since January 20, 2017.Federal Register Vol. 82, No. 12.
