The FDA is interested in learning how consumers are using these products, how they understand terms such as “milk” or “yogurt” when included in the names of plant-based products, and if they understand differences between the plant-based products and their dairy counterparts. They are taking this action to inform their development of an approach to the labeling of plant-based products that consumers may substitute for dairy foods.
