The Chairperson of the Specialized Section on Standardization of Dry and Dried Produce, Mr. Dorian LaFond reported on the progress made in the last session, held in July 5-7, 2017, regarding to the review of the existing UNECE draft Standard for Inshell Almond and Walnuts Kernels; the development of the electronic Brochure for Walnuts Kernels; the new standards for Dried Coconut Pieces, Dried Bananas and Dried Papaya; and the Explanatory Poster for Dried Apricots.
During the session, the following documents were adopted:
- Amended Standard for Walnut Kernels
- Revised Standard for Inshell Almonds
- Explanatory Poster for Dried Apricots
- Standard for Dried Coconut Pieces (as a Recommendation for a 1-year trial period)
- Standard for Dried Bananas (as a Recommendation for a 1-year trial period)
